News from Waveney Stardust

The current boat has been in service for over 16 years.

Demand for the current 'Waveney Stardust' has exceeded availability and a decision was made to raise funds for a Second Boat.

A custom built vessel will cost approx. £200,000 by completion. Already we have raised 3/4 of this from generous gifts and fund raising. Designs were commissioned for a purpose built vessel using the knowledge gained by the Committee and crews, to further the safety, comfort and enjoyment of our passengers.

In the last 10 years, Waveney Stardust 1 has taken 37,000 passengers over 45,000 miles of the Broadland Waterways. The majority of these people would not have had the opportunity to experience the waterways without a unique boat that is 'Waveney Stardust'.

'Waveney Stardust - II' is now in the process of being fitted out. The new cruiser has larger and lower windows enabling people in wheelchairs to get a better view. A larger hydraulic platform lift and will be able to load passengers from either side as well as the stern. Improved manoeuvrability and safety features are incorporated.
